imbibe like roots is a window installation of three woven textiles mounted at the Michelle Ross Studio during Design TO, 2023.  The work embeds Eastern Redbud seedpods, linden leaves, euonymous leaves, and hydrangea blossoms into woven textiles of hemp and paper threads. A quote attributed to 13th century friar, St.Francis Assissi inspires this work: "Our hands imbibe like roots, so I place them on what is beautiful in this world." The woven panels pay homage to the resilient and enduring vegetation found within our built environment.
